Home to subjects within the faculties of Education and Children’s Services and Health and Social Care, Riverside Campus is just a 20 minute walk from the Parkgate Road Campus, and is minutes from the lively city centre and the River Dee.
A vocational site
Riverside Campus features a range of state-of-the-art, subject specific facilities designed to bring learning to life, including health skills laboratories, science laboratories, and music and art rooms. Whether treating computerised mannequins in the hospital ward, or practising teaching techniques in a classroom setting, these on-campus facilities will provide you with a safe and professional environment to hone your skills before entering the working world.
The campus has a number of high quality learning facilities, including general teaching spaces, a large 192-seat lecture theatre, and specialist library which houses an extensive collection of books and journals, open-access computer suites and multimedia rooms.
Courses on offer
The University of Chester was one of the earliest training colleges in the country, established over 175 years ago in 1839. What’s more, we were the first purpose-built institution in the country to deliver teacher training courses, which we still offer today within our Faculty of Education and Children’s Services.
We offer an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Riverside Campus, as well as industry-specific Health and Social Care courses for those either already working in a health care role, or wanting to enter the profession.
In your free time
Outside of lectures, the on-site cafe and coffee shop is the perfect place to unwind, whilst the Riverside Student Space provides the ideal setting for group work and socialising. With Chester’s riverside promenade and the lively city centre on its doorstep, this impressive location places you right at the heart of the Chester experience.
See it for yourself
If you want to see what the Riverside Campus can offer you, why not book onto one of our forthcoming Open Days in October and experience it first-hand.
Please note that although the faculties of Education and Children’s Services and Health and Social Care are based at Riverside Campus, not all of these faculties’ courses are based at this campus. Please check individual courses for campus location(s).
