The Key to Your Accommodation

Living in university accommodation is a big part of your time at university, so we know you’ll have lots of questions now our accommodation application window is open. You might be wondering about the process for applying for our halls. Hopefully this blog can help to answer a few questions!

If you have selected the University of Chester as either your Firm or Insurance choice, you should soon be receiving information through the post regarding our online application process. As soon as this lands on your doorstep, you can start to apply.

If you haven’t yet decided whether you would like to accept your offer from us, don’t worry. The accommodation application window is open until Monday 12th June. Our accommodation isn’t allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis either, so there’s no need to rush your decision. As long as you submit your application by 12th June, your application will be considered fairly.

How Do I Pick My Accommodation?

When it comes to applying for our accommodation, you won’t pick a specific halls of residence. You have a choice of board types to pick from. These include our Full BoardSemi-Catered and Self-Catered halls, as well as some en-suite and others with shared facilities.

We also offer partnership accommodation to anyone studying at one of our Chester campuses. For the year 2017/18, we have three partnership accommodation units to select from as part of the application process. The partnership is run on a referral basis with two companies: Fresh Student Living and Host.

All three sites offer modern, high-specification accommodation that provide a mix of en-suite cluster flats and en-suite studio apartments.

You’ll need to spend some time thinking about your budget and what’s important to you. Research the different accommodation options, then put them in preference order. Place the board type you want the most (remembering your budget!) at the top and the one you want the least at the bottom.

Once the application window is closed, we will start to work through the applications and allocate using your preferences.
