If you missed the 15th January application deadline don’t panic. Missing the deadline doesn’t mean your chance of going to university in 2017 is over. You’ll be pleased to know that there is still time for you to apply. If you're still thinking about applying to university, here's what you'll need do.
Even though this will be a late application, it’s still vital to do the correct research (you can search all courses via the UCAS website), make careful choices and write a strong personal statement. Remember, you’ll be spending at least three years at the university that you choose, so make sure the decision is the right one for you. Although there are no guarantees at this stage, a strong application will be treated seriously if the university or college has places available, so it's important that you take the time to perfect your application before submitting.
2) Get in Touch
You should get in touch with the universities to ask whether they have vacancies – especially for courses with a 15th October deadline, as it’s unusual for them to consider late applications due to the competitive nature of these courses.
The late application deadline is 18:00 (UK time) on the 30th June. Any applications sent after this date will be entered into Clearing (the process universities and colleges use to fill any places they still have on their courses). Although the deadline may seem a lifetime away, apply as soon as possible. Courses will continue to fill up after the deadline so the sooner you apply the greater your chance of securing a place. You will need to submit your application through UCAS.
