New books for all first-year full-time undergraduates

Whilst at university your life will be consumed by books, no matter what your subject. And believe us, these books don’t come cheap! So let us help you out a little.

As a welcome gift to you, we are arranging for all 2015 first-year (Level 4) full-time undergraduates to receive a handful of key course texts at no extra cost.

So, why are you giving me books?

You might think it sounds too good to be true, but there really is no catch! At the University of Chester we believe in value for money, and that all students should be provided with the tools they need for learning and success.

So here’s how it works…

  • Enrol in September and receive your student registration/identification (ID) card.

  • Bring this student card to the allocated onsite building during Induction Week, or when term commences.

  • Pick up your books!

It really is as easy as that.

What books will I receive, and how many?

The number of books that you receive depends on your course, and the particular books your course leader has specified as essential.

But shouldn’t I have read these books before September?

We advise you not to purchase any books until September. As you will receive your books during Induction Week, you will have plenty of time to look through them prior to the commencement of your course.

Sounds good, but am I eligible?

It doesn’t matter whether you are an EU, UK or international student, you will be eligible if you are:

  • a first-year (level 4) undergraduate

  • commencing your study in September 2015, or later

  • studying full time

  • paying the full fee levels set for new students for 2015.

More information will be available closer to the start of term. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding the scheme please don’t hesitate to contact Strategic Research Officer Jem Warren at: j.warren@chester.ac.uk
