Our Top Five Tips for Your Applicant Day

Congratulations on being offered a place on one of our undergraduate courses! The next step for you is to attend one of our upcoming Applicant Days. You may have already visited us on an Open Day but an Applicant Day is your opportunity to get a better, more informed idea of whether the University of Chester is the right fit for you.

We have put together our top five tips to help make your visit a success.

1. Plan Ahead

Once you have booked your place on the Applicant Day, you’ll be sent a confirmation email which includes a timetable for the day. We recommend that you have a good look through this so you can plan your activities accordingly. Applicant Days can be busy and deciding what you want to attend will help to ensure you don’t miss out on anything. Take a look at our Applicant Day Checklist to help you plan your day.

2. Pay Attention to Detail

At Chester we have five campuses located across the city. Make sure you check your confirmation email so that you know which campus you need to attend and what transport options are available to you. You can find out more about our campuses here, and get details of how to find them.

3. Ask Questions

You’ll get so much more out of your visit if you ask us questions! Our job is to help you make the right decision. There will be academics, staff and students on hand throughout the day to answer your questions. The only way you will get to know more about the University and what it’s like to be a student here is to talk to the staff and students. Feel free to ask us questions before the event. You can contact us on enquiries@chester.ac.uk or call us on 01244 512800.

4. View the Accommodation

Choosing the accommodation that is most suitable for you is one of the most important decisions you’ll have to make before starting university. If you are planning on staying in University of Chester halls, we have a wide selection of board types open to view on the Applicant Day. We highly recommend you see as many of them as possible and that you visit the Residential Living information desk on the day. The team will happily answer any questions you may have.

5. Explore

Make sure you take a student-led campus tour and check out our award winning Students’ Union, sports facilities and eateries. Take the opportunity to ask the students about the social life in the city and maybe even pick up some recommendations for a good place to head after the Applicant Day for dinner. To know what to expect on the Applicant Day, why not take a look at current 3rd year Psychology student Caitlin’s Snapchat takeover.

We have a whole host of Applicant Days running from January – April, so if you haven’t had chance to, book your place for one of our upcoming Applicant days.
