Happy New Year!
Now the winter break has been and gone it's time to really kick start your university journey (if you haven't already). Over the following months you’ll need to make a number of important decisions. To make sure you know exactly what to do and when to do it, take a look at our brief guide to what’s next in 2017.
1) Submit your application
If you haven’t already applied now is the time to do so.
Applications for the majority of undergraduate courses should arrive at UCAS by 6pm on January 15th. For information on how to apply take a look at our application checklist. If you don’t think you’ll have your application in on time, don’t panic! Many universities accept applications after this date (but it’s best to double check with that particular university to make sure).
Once you have submitted your application you should start to hear back from your choices regarding their decision.
2) Visit us
If you’re offered a place to study at the University of Chester you’ll be invited to attend an Applicant Day (or an Interview Day, depending on your course). Applicant Days offer you a more personal experience than Open Days where you can find out more about your course and what it’s really like to be a student at the University of Chester. So, whilst you may have already visited on an Open Day or taken a campus tour, it’s definitely worth taking the time to visit us again and get all of your queries answered before making the big decision.
You can book your place on one of our Applicant Days now.
3) Respond to your offers
Once you hear back from all of your choices you’ll need to start thinking about responding to your offers. Take a look at our application checklist for details on how to do this.
You’ll need to respond to your offers on UCAS Track before the specified deadline.
4) Apply for student finance
If you think you’ll need student finance whilst at university then don’t forget to apply. In February our student finance blog will guide you through the application process. In the meantime, keep an eye on your relevant student finance website for announcements on when to start applying.
5) Apply for accommodation
If you decide to make Chester your Firm or Insurance choice we will contact you in March with details of how to apply for student accommodation. There are lots of different types of accommodation on offer which you can view on our accommodation pages.
In the meantime, if you require any advice on your next step simply get in touch.
