One of the most exciting and nerve wracking prospects about going to University is the thought of moving out for the first time and making a new home for yourself in a new city. You will probably have loads of questions about where you’ll be living, who with and what the accommodation is like. So to help you get a better idea of what to expect, here’s a brief overview of accommodation at the University of Chester.
On your doorstep
For students based in Chester, although the majority of our accommodation is based either on or near our residential Parkgate Road Campus, we also have a selection of University and partnership accommodation located within the city centre. So whether you’re based on campus, or within the city centre, enjoy exploring what social facilities and local amenities are on your door step.
Similarly, if you choose to study a course at our Warrington Campus, you can expect to live in one of our purpose built accommodation blocks right in the middle of the campus, with your lecture halls and social facilities just outside your front door.
Can’t Cook, Won’t Cook!
We have a range of accommodation types to pick from, from full board where you’ll get three meals a day, seven days a week during term time cooked for you in one of our many campus canteens; to self-catered where you can whip up your own culinary masterpieces for you and your housemates!
These board types are available in a variety of accommodation styles as well, you could find yourself living in one of our large traditional halls of residence, or one of the smaller self-contained houses. There’s something to suit everyone’s preferences and budgets.
Ready to settle in
All of our University accommodation comes fully furnished. All you need to bring with you is your clothes, bedding, laptop and a few home comforts to make your new room feel like home. If you’re in self-catered, you might want to bring some cooking equipment with you as well!
Cleaning, bills and broadband are all included in our accommodation so there is no need to worry about any hidden extra costs.
Safe as houses
The campus has a team of security porters on hand 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! They are here to ensure your safety and welfare on campus, and are especially helpful if you forget your keys!
Our accommodation also has its own residential hall warden. They are here to make sure everyone lives in harmony with one another and to offer advice on issues that might arise within your accommodation.
