We know moving away from home for the first time can be quite a daunting prospect, so your accommodation is very important. It needs to feel like your own home away from home. To try and set your mind at ease, we have asked two current students who have lived in our Halls of Residence to talk about their experience.
Monday 27th March
So, your university offers are in (or almost in) – what do you do next?
Offers are displayed in the ‘Your Choices’ section on UCAS track. You don’t have to reply until you’ve heard back from all of your universities/colleges, and your reply date may be different from your friends. The deadline will also be displayed in Track. Your deadline depends upon when UCAS receive the last decision from your chosen universities.

Studying one of our Tourism courses at the University of Chester will not only teach you about the benefits of tourism to our economy and society, but will also provide you with opportunities to experience larger-scale tourism events firsthand.
This year, as part of their first year on the course, our Tourism students enjoyed a ‘behind the scenes’ look at the 2017 City of Culture, Hull.

Tuesday 21st March
Today (March 21st) is World Poetry Day, a time to support poets and poetry around the world. With this in mind, students and staff from the Department of English at the University of Chester have been furiously submitting poems to the Department’s online magazine Pandora’s Inbox, which features some of the best creative writing from the year including new poetry from students Cal Buckley, George Hill, Jonathan Hay, Sarah Kissack, Daisy Lovett, Paige Mcdermott, Reece Merrifield, Lydia Pugh, Courtney Thomas and many others.
Monday 20th March
Today, believe it or not, is the International Day of Happiness. So, to mark the occasion, our Senior Lecturer of Psychology, Lee Hulbert-Williams, has written the following insightful blog about the different types of happiness experienced by human beings and how we can feel happier in ourselves – kind of like a mini counselling session.
Monday 13th March
Students on the BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing, and Communication (FMC) course are busy promoting their marketing and promotion coursework on social media. A new course here in the Department of Art and Design, FMC is an exciting mix of marketing, branding and communication activity directed at the needs of the fashion industry.

Another Development Week has been and gone here at the University of Chester, and what a brilliant week it was. Each year the Student Support and Guidance team arrange a wide variety of activities for our students to get involved in and learn something new for free.
