Undergraduate Open Days

What is an Open Day?

Open Days are the ideal opportunity for prospective students to visit before submitting an application.  All areas of our campuses will be open for you to get a real feel for student life at Chester.  You’ll be able to attend subject sessions, speak with staff and students, view accommodation and explore our campuses and facilities.

Please note that these pages enable you to view and book Open Days at our campuses in Chester and Warrington.  If you are interested in a course based at University Centre Shrewsbury, please refer to the University Centre Shrewsbury website.

If your course is based at our Warrington Campus, we also have an Open Evening on June 14th 2016, which may be of interest to you. If you’re not able to make our Open Evening, we have an Open Day on Saturday 22nd October.

What time does the Open Day start and finish?

The Open Days will run from 10am - 4pm with the exception of the Warrington Campus Open Day on Saturday 22nd October, which will run from 10:30am to 3:00pm.

You will be able to view a timetable on these pages a week before the event.

Where does the Open Day take place?

The location of your Open Day sessions will depend on which subject(s) you are interested in, as we have several campuses.  By selecting your subject(s) of interest from the drop-down list on the Open Day booking page, you will be directed to the correct information for where you need to register on the day.  Many of our central facilities for Chester-based students are based at the Parkgate Road Campus, so you will have the opportunity to visit here even if your subject sessions are held at a different campus in Chester.

Is car parking available?

There is limited car parking at all sites.

However, please note that parking is extremely limited at the Parkgate Road Campus and the Riverside Campus and we recommend using public transport where possible.

How do I cancel my booking?

If you are no longer able to attend, please contact us on 01244 512800 or visitus@chester.ac.uk and let us know that you wish to cancel your booking, along with the email address you used to book.

When booking my place, should I include myself among the number of guests?

No, when we ask for the number of guests we want to know how many people you will be bringing along with you.

How do I change the number of guests on my ticket?

It's not essential that the number of guests on your booking is precisely how many you end up bringing: we just ask so that we have an idea of how many poeple will be attending on the day.

I have received one ticket for the Open Day but had stated that I was bringing guests along with me. What should I do?

You don't need to do anything.  We only send one ticket for each booking and this will cover you and any guests you bring along with you.

When I booked my Open Day ticket I selected the wrong subject / I have changed my mind about which subject I am interested in. Can I change the subject on my booking?

We can change the subject for you and advise if you therefore need to register at a different site when you arrive.  Please contact us at visitus@chester.ac.uk or 01244 512800 and we will make the changes to your booking.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

When you book your Open Day place you will receive a confirmation email: please bring this with you as it will act as your ticket for the Open Day.  If you no longer have the confirmation email, please contact us at visitus@chester.ac.uk and we can re-send it to you.  You will be given a copy of the Open Day timetable on arrival at the Open Day.

What if I can't attend the Open Day?

We do also offer campus tours throughout the year.  To find out more and to book onto a tour please visit our campus tour webpage.

However, we recommend that you attend an Open Day if possible, as you will have the opportunity to not only visit the campus but to find out more about the course, the facilities, finance, accommodation and student life in general. Open Days also include an opportunity to speak to our student ambassadors who are available to answer any questions about life at the University of Chester.
